I modified the lyrics to "Wind Beneath My Wings" and set my tribute to our soldiers to the background music of that song, (by Larry Henley and Jeff Silbar). I feel it's my own small way of showing support. I sang this song often when in a band, and this thought just came to mind. Thank you for visiting. God Bless America. God Bless our Troops.
A Tribute To Our Soldiers
(Set to the music and lyrics of Wind Beneath My Wings, by Larry Henley and Jeff Silbar)
It must have been cold in tyranny's shadow. The sand and the sunlight in your face. You were content to let us shine. You never walked a step behind. And, you are deserving of the glory. Yet, you are the ones in all the pain. A beautiful face, a beautiful name. A courageous smile, to hide your pain. Did you ever know that you're our heroes? And, everything we would like to be? Let Freedom fly high, just like our eagle. But, YOU are the wind beneath its wings. All that you've done, was not unnoticed. We've got it all here in our hearts. You need to know, we know the truth. Freedom would die, if not for you.
Did you ever know that you're our heroes? And everything we would like to be. And, freedom will fly, just like our eagle. But, you are the wind beneath its wings. Yes, YOU are the wind beneath OUR wings.
Fly, fly, fly high against the sky, the eagle in the battle's cry. Thank you, thank you, thank God for you, the wind beneath our wings.
