God's Rainbow of Promises
Welcome to God's Rainbow of Promises!

"God promised me a rainbow. He promised one to you. A rainbow made of love, forgiveness through and through." Rekindle your hope and faith! The world can be a scary, depressing place...if we let it. Sometimes we need a gentle reminder that God is with us, loves us, and will guide us through the good times, and the bad. YOU are a beautiful creation!"- Blessings to you, Ellen M. DuBois

One Year Since My Mother Went to Heaven

by Ellen DuBois on 01/03/16

It's been one year today since my mother transitioned into Heaven. Several years ago, she was making prayer shawls with a group of women and made one for me. Inside was a note that accompanied the shawl. Instead of the typical, printed note, she hand wrote mine and I'm so glad I kept it safe with the shawl. I could go on about so many things right now, but instead, I'll share with you the words from the note and it is not by mere chance they comfort me on this day as I sit wrapped in its warmth: "As you wrap yourself in this shawl of comfort... May you find comfort from all that appears too much to bear at this moment. May you be comforted by the presence of those who love and support you. May you be strengthened in your daily comings and goings, in your tentative new beginnings, in your unfolding new memories. Blessings of the Angel of Comfort be with you and all you love now and forevermore. Amen." Thank you, Mom. Your love continues to comfort all of us. It's because we loved you so much that we miss you so much.

Fear and Faith

by Ellen DuBois on 07/15/15

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirt has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8

Dear God,  Please remind to me ask the Holy Spirit for help in living my life with faith instead of fear. If fear begins to overcome me, remind me to ask the Holy Spirit for strength.

I'm reminded of a book I read called The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Shinn. It was one of the most profound books I've ever read. The book was a collection of her works and consisted of three different books she wrote. Her words: fear is faith inverted resonated with me, and still do.

May you feel the power of the Holy Spirit and may you have faith instead of fear.

Thank God For the People in my Life.

by Ellen DuBois on 07/14/15

I have the same routine each morning. I wake up, thank God for the day and head downstairs with the dog at my heels. I stop and plug in the angel tree I made after my mother passed away and go to the kitchen. Cooper's (that's my dog) eyes look up at me as if to say you're taking me out now, right?

I put his leash on and we go out. I love hearing the birds sing and the sound of water running over stones in the pond out back. It's so peaceful. The smell of the morning air is calming.

Cooper and I go in and I get the coffee. Heading upstairs, Cooper's following closely behind again.

Reaching for my Woman's Daily Prayer Book, I open to the day's date and read the message. For July 14th: Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. If they fall, one will lift up the other.-

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Thank you, God. Thank you for my fiance, my sisters, my father, my wonderful girlfriends- especially my best friend, (who gave me this book several years ago). I know we are there to lift each other up. I am blessed to have these people in my life.

So many times I wonder what I'd do without them.

Thank you, God, for being in my life. I know there is no better friend than you. I trust and know you will always be there to lift me up. You always do.

Thank you.
